Inspired by the Reddit AMAs (Ask Me Anything) that I’ve done over the past few years, I’m launching this new page (new as of September 2017) where I invited readers of this blog to ask me questions.
The questions can be about stem cells, CRISPR, brain cancer research, other science topics, about my lab’s research, the teaching in medical school that I do, what it’s like to be a cancer survivor (more here), and more. You can ask the questions here via the comments or by emailing me.

On Reddit, some of the most common questions in the AMAs were about stem cells and CRISPR because those were the stated topics, but people often ask me about my familial relationship (if any) with Dire Straits guitarist Mark Knopfler. Some seem to think I am Mark Knopfler or are just pulling my leg. By the way Knoepfler and Knopfler are indeed basically the same name.
