The  unproven stem cell clinic StemGenex appears to now be called Advanced Cell Medicine. StemGenex is facing a proposed class action lawsuit by patients and it also recently received an FDA warning letter. StemGenex is notable too in that it seemed to be considering taking some extreme action against perceived critic websites including potentially the California Stem Cell Agency, CIRM. New court documents indicate that the stem cell clinic Stemgenex was contemplating paying nearly $20K to try to get certain webpages that were critical of the company taken down. The documents include internal company emails that are part of the lawsuit against the firm. They indicate that Stemgenex was mulling over the idea of hiring a “reputation management” company, The Reputation Group, in 2016 to deal with critical web content. The stem cell clinic StemGenex was sued almost a year ago related to allegations about their marketing claims. This proposed class action suit, Moorer v. StemGenex, now includes five named patients involved as one can see from the new fourth amended complaint court document. There is a growing trend of apparently unhappy patients suing stem cell clinics, which have faced more lawsuits recently and some of these cases are proposed class action suits that could have much broader impact. The latest case is against San Diego-based Stemgenex, a clinic that has claimed amongst other things that it can treat numerous diverse afflictions and that it has had a 100% customer satisfaction rate.
