Where do we stand on stem cells for eye disorders?

The only biotech with an active hESC-based clinical trial, Advanced Cell Technology (ACT) will have three top leaders including CEO Gary Rabin participating in a CIRM webinar on stem cell-based treatments for eye disorders this Wednesday. Also involved with be Samuel Barone, a medical officer from the FDA.

  1. I was looking at Dr Aron’s materials yesterday which are excellent and I attended the presentations today. They were excellent. I advise availing yourself of the option to revisit the video in about a week on the FDA site. I hope they do more of these as it outlines the level of research required for an IND…not easy but really no more than for a strict IRB. They also share how FDA will give pre pre IND conferences so that you know what is needed before applying and suggest going for these as soon as you decide o animal trials
