I’ve been working for a couple years on SCOPE, the Stem Cell Outreach Program for Education. Our motto is “stem cells not lost in translation!”
This program aims to provide concise and clear educational materials about stem cells to as many readers across the world in their native languages as possible.
To date, we have 19 languages covering most of the globe!
- Chinese. 什麼是幹細胞?
- English. What are stem cells?
- Farsi. سلولهای بنیادی چه هستند؟
- French Qu’appelle-t-on cellules souches?
- Hebrew מהם תאי גזע?
- Hindi. स्टेम सेल क्या हैं?
- Italian. Cosa sono le cellule staminali?
- Irish (Gaelic) Cad iad gaschealla?
- Japanese. 幹細胞ってなに?
- Mongolian. Үүдэл эс гэж юу вэ?
- Polish. Co to są komórki macierzyste?
- Portuguese. O que são células tronco?
- Romanian. Ce sunt celulele stem?
- Russian. Что такое стволовые клетки?
- Serbian. Шта су матичне ћелије?
- Spanish. ¿Qué son las células madre?
- Tagalog Ano ba ang mga stem cells?
- Turkish. Kök hücre nedir?
- Vietnamese. Tế bào gốc là gì?
This achievement is all the more remarkable because every translation was done by a volunteer translator, costing no money.
We still are in need of more languages including in particular Arabic and Swahili. However, any language not on the list would be appreciated. The stem cell white paper to be translated is relatively short (a couple pages).
A huge thanks to all my volunteer translators out there!
