Stem Cell Person of the Year 2013 Nominations Begin Tomorrow: $1000 Prize

Nominations will open tomorrow September 10th for the 2013 Stem Cell Person of the Year Award.

The 2012 award process involved several steps and included an online polling element that had some influence on the ultimate decision.

Roman Reed Stem Cell Person of the Year

You can see the voting on the list of finalists (who were selected from about 30 total nominees) here.

Ultimately, super patient advocate Roman Reed was the recipient of the award.

For 2013 the process will be similar with a few important changes, but the timeline will be shifted significantly earlier. I am aiming to announce the winner in November.

The winner will again receive $1,000 and of course stem cell fame.

Unlike most prizes in the science field, this one is open to people from all walks of life.

So start giving some thought to who you want to nominate for this one-of-a-kind award.

I will give more details tomorrow including rules on eligibility and such.
