Nature Photos & Videos

mantis on sunflower, nature photos
A praying mantis hunting for bees on one of my sunflowers.

In addition to being a scientist, I’m an amateur photographer and gardener who loves taking nature photos.

I really like to get out into the world and capture it on film and some of this happens right in my own back yard.

This isn’t so surprising since one of my favorite parts of science is capturing data as images, especially on the microscope. There’s something about photos of stained cells from microscopes that is compelling.

I also sometimes throw a macro zoom lens on my iPhone and the natural world can look very different.

You might also want to check out my Scientist in the Garden posts.

I also now have a Scientist in the Garden YouTube channel.

I pasted one of my favorite videos from my channel below and scroll further for the photo and video links.
