Dr. Charles Vacanti is scheduled as a special guest speaker on April 1 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He’ll be speaking on STAP cells. See image below of the announcement.
The title of his talk is “Tissue Engineering and STAP Cells”.
It is part of the Brigham and Women’s “Leaders in Regenerative Medicine Seminar Series”. Online registration is required to attend. (hat tip to blog reader)
Anyone planning to go and possibly interested in a guest blogging gig on the seminar?
In principle based on the online registration form it seems that the public can attend.
Given all the controversy surrounding STAP cells, it will be interesting to see if the event proceeds as planned or is cancelled. I bet it will not be cancelled. If it goes forward, I’d imagine there will be an almost endless stream of questions at the end.
The seminar is actually canceled without any reason. I just received this email from BWH:
“Hello,
Thank you for registering for the BRI Leaders in Regenerative Medicine seminar scheduled for Tuesday, April 1st featuring Dr. Charles Vacanti. Unfortunately, we will be cancelling this month’s session and resuming on May 6th with Ali Khademhosseini, PhD, Associate Professor at Harvard-MIT’s Division of Health Sciences and Technology (HST). “
I was signed up to attend, but just got an email that it has been cancelled.
postponed…?
Just found that his talk on April 1 postponed.
Does anyone know if students can attend the event?
I don’t see why not. BWH is a teaching hospital after all. 🙂 Just fill out the registration form online.
So it was all just an elaborate April Fool’s prank?
This is going to be a zoo. I’ll be there and check it out, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to stay through all the questions at the end. That probably doesn’t make me the best candidate to blog the event.
