How can baldness help cure kid’s cancer? St. Baldrick’s

For the 4th straight year I’m going to get my head shaved to support St. Baldrick’s in their mission to cure childhood cancer.

St. Baldrick’s is a great charity that raises money specifically for pediatric cancer research in part via events at which “shavees” raise funds via pledges that they will get their heads shaved.

Children facing a cancer diagnosis not only have to deal with that reality of having cancer, but also often face side effects from their treatments such as chemo and radiation that can lead to baldness. Thus, there is solidarity between the shavees and the childhood cancer patients in addition to the fund raising.St. Baldrick's Team UCD SOM

Please consider supporting the UC Davis School of Medicine Team, which I am captaining again this year. Our team (picture a couple years back post-shave) includes faculty, graduate and medical students from UC Davis School of Medicine.

Thank you!
Paul
