Every year I run a number of contests here on The Niche and the most recent is a stem cell video contest.
I’m pleased to announce the winner of our contest is Lusubilo Mwalilino.
You can see her video entry above, which is now part of our stem cell YouTube channel. Please check out the other videos on our channel and subscribe. It’s the only YouTube channel on stem cells and regenerative medicine by a professor. At least I haven’t seen any others.
Lusubilo’s video is an engaging take on stem cells. In a sense, it addresses the question “what are stem cells?”
The colorful animation is wonderful and captures the viewer’s attention.
Lusubilo is a stem cell biologist working in Japan.
I asked her to tell us a little bit about herself and her research.
I am from Malawi and have a Bachelors of Science (Biotechnology) (Hons) which I obtained in May 2020 in Malaysia. I am currently pursuing a Masters degree in stem cell biology at the Institute of Molecular Embryology and Genetics (IMEG) here in Japan. The majority of the course is research based.I study in Professor Hitoshi Niwa’s lab and I have been here for over a year now. I have one project which is epigenetic related and another which is stem cell based. I will be graduating in September 2022. I want to further pursue a PhD in the same field in an English speaking country, preferably the US or countries in Europe.
I like the creativity. Very informative
Great and nice video. We want to see more
I am very grateful for the opportunity to be able to show something I find interesting through a hobby of mine.
The video is really nice we want to see lots and more things like this😊
