It’s been a week with a wide variety of regenerative medicine papers and stem cell news.

Stem Cell News & Media including lifting of fetal tissue restrictions
- Science, Biden administration scraps human fetal tissue research restrictions. The previous restrictions by the Trump Administration didn’t make much sense. I’m surprised that during their 4 years they did not try to restrict human embryonic stem cell research funding.
- Scope Blog, Former patient writes book for kids on stem cell transplants. I recommend checking out the book by Rob Henslin called Neutrophil’s Guide to Stem Cell Transplants for Kids. This is an inspiring story. Even if a kid is not or has not gone through this they may have had a friend or relative who did, or they may just find it an interesting book to read. Seems like a good gift. Check out one of the images from the book above.
- Law360, False Ad Suit Against Stem Cell Clinic Back In Ga. State Court. So many stem cell clinics are spending so much more time in court or on legal matters. So sad, right? Not really. I’ve got more on this particular case by the Georgia Attorney General.
- Biospace, Celularity Gains FDA Orphan Drug Status on Strength of Placental Stem Cell Trials. This is regarding their produce CYNK-001 for malignant glioma. I’ve been somewhat puzzled by Celularity’s PR strategies at times and I’m also a bit skeptical about their approach to COVID-19, but this news on the glioma front is some reason for hope.
- Science, New York state ends stem cell research funding. Oddly, the state gave no clear explanation for the termination. New York’s action contrasts with the renewal of CIRM here in California.
